Log 7 Report Log Extract

Mon 0800
Cannot get Excel to load the spreadsheet developed at home over the weekend. Urgent as I need to prepare report for company auditors.
George, company accountant, been with organisation about a year
Problem

Check the version of excel you have and if it’s a new version then it will need to be saved in an older format. Also it could just be down to the file being corrupt.

Mon 0845
Cannot log into system Fredya.
New assistant to MD

Missing windows file or system is corrupt

Mon 1000
Cannot access orders list from new machine installed last week, cannot even find database package.
Willo, production team

Sometimes when a new machine several files may have been lost during file transfer

Tues 0845
Same problem as yesterday.
Freyda

Missing windows file or system is corrupt

Tues 1300
Mouse keeps jumping then screen locks out, trying to print out college assignment finished at home last night, screen displays message ‘Gotcha’.
Jules, receptionist

Most probably you have the gotcha virus or you may just have to update your drivers

Wed 1630
Keep getting message ‘Normal.dot cannot be saved’ when using the templates on the wordprocessor.
Fredya (her CV says she really does have some IT skills)

Normal .dot is a Microsoft template so it will not allow you to override it so rename the file then you will be able to save your file

Thur 0900
Got new piece of design software that needs installing on machine and making compatible with printer.
Willo

After the software has been installed look for drivers for the right drivers for your system

Thur 1530
Went to check orders list and screen went ‘pop’ with a nasty smell.
Sunil, production assistant

Your monitor may be faulty and chemicals have possibly leaked causing the nasty smell

Fri 1600
Need access to documents stored on Fredya’s machine but her machine won’t get past boot up stage.
Mr Magic, the boss

Your hard drive may be corrupt and data required to load the operating system from the hard drive is possibly also corrupt so you will need to rebuild the machine and reinstall all software and hard that you have backed up.

Select it and your conversations will be recorded in the directory listed in the box below. (Of course you can set that to be whatever you like but the default directory is probably fine for most.) info gathered from: http://www.wikihow.com/Save-Your-Windows-Live-Messenger-Conversation-History

Is there a way to fit all the data on one page on excel 2003? Log 2

Simply change the print settings from portrait to landscape so all data fits onto one page when printed , if this doesn't work then play with the column and row sizes making them smaller so there is more space to fit everything on the page.

Widening Columns

You probably noticed, as you typed in the numbers, some of the words were just too wide for the default cell width (Investments and Miscellaneous).  Let's widen column B to take care of this.

Slowly move the mouse arrow to the right edge of the B cell (between the B and the C).  The cursor will turn into an arrow pointing right and left with a small vertical line in the middle (see arrow below).  Hold down the left mouse button and move (drag) the line to the right.

As soon as you start to move (drag), a dotted vertical line will go down the spreadsheet and it will move as you hold down the left button and drag the mouse. Keep dragging to the right until you are past the widest word and a bit more (for some space).  Release the button.  The column is widened.  Notice in the upper left corner of the screen, below File in the menu bar, and above the buttons, that as you hold down and drag that it tells you that current width of the column.  You can use the same process to shorten columns and make more space on your spreadsheet.
